Here go's sport's fans! This indeed my Aunt Faye's recipe for Picadillia

1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
2 cups long grain (not minute) rice
1/2 cup raisins (regular seedless raisins, not white)
1 green bell pepper diced fine
1 small jar of chopped spanish olives (the ones with the red things)
  1 medium onion chopped fine
1 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes
1 12 ounce or so bag of finely chopped sharp cheddar cheese
  1 medium baking dish
  1/2 cup water
  1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  1/2 teaspoon of salt
  1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  1 tablespoon of chili powder

Boil the long grain rice as directed, fluff and let stand.

In a frying pan cook your ground meat until done and pour off the grease
Put back on stove and toss in onions and bell pepper. Cook until onions are sort of clear looking. If it feels like it sticking, toss in small amouts of water that will evaporate.

  Reduce heat a little

Add olives and tomatoes and raisins, all the seasoning and 1/2 cup of water

Stir and let cook for about 15 or twenty minutes minutes

Mix rice and beef mixture together together and put in baking dish

Spread the cheese over the top

Bake in 350 oven for 30 minutes

Feeds me, Aunt Faye and my cousin Jenean (ouch!), with left overs

  Peace ya'll
  Dupree
