[Cookbook] Steely Dan Cookbook Status Update

Good morning!

 

Wanted to kick off the first email to this mailing list to give you an
update on the status of the project and exactly what this mailing list
will be used for. 

 

First, Pam asked about the timeline for the project. The answer is there
really is none. I'd like to see this complete by the end of the summer.
Traffic spikes when the band is touring, and since the rumors have them
playing various dates in the US in May and possibly venturing across the
pond later in the summer, it'll be a good time to get people involved. 

 

I'm about to announce the revival of this project to Hoop's digest and
guestbook which will likely generate a few more recruits. I've got tacit
confirmation from Alton Brown regarding his participation and the same
with Walter. Still waiting to see if Donald might contribute. But were
still at the very early stages of development. 

 

So before we get too far into concepts and ideas, I'd like to wait a
week or two to generate a few more participants. We currently have 8.
The message I sent last week to most of you only arrived at about 6
email addresses - the rest bounced, so it's sorta like starting all over
again. 

 

In the meantime keep thinking of Steely-inspired recipes.

 

Also, each of you can send messages to this list anytime. Just hit reply
or address the message to: cookbook at banyantrees.net. If you don't like
seeing each message as it arrives, you can change your personal settings
to "digest mode" which will combine all the messages into a single email
